Bien que le besoin de recruter plus de personnel infirmier soit manifeste dans l’ensemble du Canada, les infirmières formées à l’étranger continuent de rencontrer des obstacles à leur intégration dans les milieux des soins de santé. À partir d’une recension des écrits, cet article dresse un portrait des difficultés rencontrées par celles-ci, notamment en ce qui concerne les phénomènes d’acculturation et de racialisation. Il fera par la suite état des pratiques les plus pertinentes afin d’assurer la réussite de leur intégration professionnelle.
